Durch die Medienlandschaft geht einmal mehr ein Staunen: Die ersten Vorabreviews zum iPhone 6s und iPhone 6s Plus sind online. Einschlägige Zeitungen und Online-Magazine haben das neuste Apple Smartphone schon vor dem Start am Freitag testen können und geben sich begeistert.
Insbesondere 3D Touch scheint – trotz der noch eingegrenzten Möglichkeiten in Bezug auf Drittapps – das Highlight der neuen Smartphone-Serie zu sein. Der Apple-Blogger Jim Dalrymple ist erstaunt davon, wie viel Zeit die Funktion im digitalen Alltag tatsächlich einsparen kann. Eine Innovation, die Zukunft zu haben scheint. Dalrymple bringt es auf den Punkt:
3D Touch is one of the handiest features that I’ve seen from Apple in a long time. It’s not just that it’s cool, it actually saves me time. It’s a new way to navigate the iPhone that’s quick, easy, and efficient.
Aber auch Live Fotos kommt gut an. Hier zeigt sich allen voran die Autorin Joanna Stern des Wall Street Journals begeistern. Live Photos – ein Hybrid aus Fotos und Videos – integrieren sich demnach optimal in das Betriebssystem und verschönern das alltägliche Anschauen der Urlaubsbilder auf allen Geräten.
The absolute best thing about the 6s is Live Photos. While capturing a still photo, it also captures a bit of live action. They’re awesome for reliving fun moments, especially of an active puppy or child, and anyone with an iOS 9 iPhone or iPad can view them. But they generally take up two to three times as much space as an iPhone 6 pic because they also save three seconds of video. Sure, you can turn them off, but you won’t want to.

Speaking of selfies, the 6S and 6S Plus turns the front display into a flash by lighting up for a moment three times brighter than usual. That’s pretty clever too. Meantime, aspiring filmmakers will be jazzed about the ability to shoot 4K video on the phones. The feature is turned off by default since most people still don’t have a way to play back 4K video and such videos gobble up lots of space, roughly 375 MB per minute at the highest resolution. You can edit 4K video on the latest free iMovie app that is available for the phones.

Akkulaufzeit unverändert
Die Akkulaufzeit scheint bei den Testern weder sonderlich negativ noch positiv aufzufallen. Zum Vorgängermodell gibt es keine Verbesserung – Apple verbaut sogar einen kleineren Akku. Trotzdem hält das 6s immer noch einen guten Tag durch und kann mit dem Energiesparmodus sogar noch länger durchstehen.
Still, there is no battery improvement over last year’s iPhone 6 models. In our grueling test; which loops a series of websites with brightness set at around 65%, I found the 6s and 6s Plus get no more—but also no less—battery life than their predecessors. (iOS 9 itself adds an hour of savings to the iPhone 6, and has Low Power Mode.) Strangely, although Apple says that the 6s Plus gets hours more battery life than the 6s, repeated testing on multiple devices reveals a slimmer difference. In a Web surfing test, the 6s on average lasted for 8 hours, while the 6s Plus went 20 minutes longer. In a video playback test, the difference was an hour.
